IMC engages technocrats, academia to pilot foundation

Created to support the needy and empower the Muslim community, Ibile Muslim Community (IMC) Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation has inaugurated its technical advisory and compliance committee.

Created to support the needy and empower the Muslim community, Ibile Muslim Community (IMC) Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation has inaugurated its technical advisory and compliance committee.

  
The committee consists of scholars, academia, captains of industries who have remarkable years of experience and are also vast in Islamic knowledge. The committee has as members, Professor Abd Razak Alaro; Chief Executive, ArthurTrust, Dr Basheer Oshodi; Prof Abdul Kabir Paramole; Professor Luqman Zakariyah, Professor Luqman Adedeji; Head, Public Sector Sales, Airtel Nigeria, Mrs Sarwi Rahaman; Founder Baytuzeenah Limited, Mrs Saidat Otiti; Senior Lecturer, Darudawah Islamic School, Imam Maruf Okusanya and Secretary General OICAC, Dr. Umar Oseni.
  
In his address, the Chairman Board of Trustees and Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla, charged the committee members to bring their wealth of knowledge to bear, while reassuring the general public of the foundation’s commitment to implementing its aims and objectives to the fullest.
  
Sheikh Abou-Nolla seized the opportunity to thank Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Senator Tokunboh Abiru, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and other well-meaning individuals who have been supporting the foundation since inception.
  
Keynote speaker, Prof. Muritala Aderemi Bidmos, highlighted the importance of the organisation, stating how it came into existence at a time when zakat foundations had been saturated. He lauded the efforts of individuals and organisations who take it upon themselves to be the ambassadors of the change we desire in the Muslim communities.
  
Bidmos further reiterated the goal of the foundation, which is to serve Allah through diligent management of the three institutions Zakat, Sadaqah and Waqf. He explained that IBILE Zakat Foundation has deemed it fit to seek assistance from highly esteemed brothers and sisters who have the competence and the right professional expertise in finance and zakat management.
