
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-country tour starting November 16, focusing on strengthening ties with Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana.
According to timesofindia.indiatimes.com, this will be his first visit to both Guyana and Nigeria which are members of the Global South community.
His first stop will be Nigeria, where he will meet with President Bola Tinubu to deepen bilateral relations. As Africa’s most populous country and largest economy, Nigeria is a key partner for India. Nigeria was also invited to the 2023 Delhi G20 summit as a guest country.
From November 17–19, PM Modi will attend the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As part of the G20 troika, India, Brazil, and South Africa play a leading role in shaping global governance.

During the summit, Modi will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden.
The final leg of his tour will take him to Guyana from November 19–21, where he will meet President Irfaan Ali.
India has been strengthening ties with Guyana in defence, energy, and agriculture. Additionally, Modi will chair the India-CARICOM summit, focusing on trade, investment, and infrastructure development in the Caribbean region.
India shares a deep historical connection with Guyana, as the Indo-Guyanese community constitutes the country’s largest ethnic group.
