Consequent to the conclusion of party primaries for the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), yesterday, said it had processed 476 Certified True Copies (CTCs) requests to facilitate justice.

National Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Abuja.

He added that the July 15 deadline for submission of governorship and House of Assembly candidates’ list remains.

Yakubu said the electoral umpire had processed 6,995 nomination forms (EC9) uploaded by 16 of the 18 political parties.

He regretted that the African Action Congress (AAC) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) were yet to upload a single nomination to INEC’s portal.

THIS comes as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, wrote INEC on his formal resumption of office.

Deputy National Chairman (North), Umar Damagum, had been acting as chairman following Ayu’s leave.

National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in a statement, disclosed that Ayu met with members of the National Working Committee (NWC), where he commended Damagum for effectively holding brief.

He also applauded members of the NWC, other organs and critical stakeholders for the cohesiveness and unity of purpose that pervade the main opposition party.

“The National Chairman expressed confidence that with the prevailing overwhelming support of the people, the PDP and its candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, will emerge victorious in the Saturday, July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun State,” he stated.

The APC official lauded ongoing consultations by the party to win the 2023 general elections.
