ABU, KASU get N1b for other projects
Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has disbursed N550 million to Kaduna State College of Education (KSCOE), Gidan Waya, to address insecurity in the institution.

Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, disclosed this, yesterday, when a state government delegation, led by Governor Uba Sani, visited him at the fund’s headquarters in Abuja.

Echono, who noted that the disbursement was beyond the normal allocation, disclosed that the fund also disbursed N500 million to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria for the completion of one project, in addition to making it a centre of excellence.

According to him, the same amount was also given to Kaduna State University (KASU) to complete some projects in its Kafanchan campus, adding that the fund would expedite action to complete some projects in the university, which earlier had challenges.

The TETFund boss assured the state government that one of the public tertiary institutions in the state would benefit from the fund’s special high impact intervention in 2024, after the cycle of six years since the state last benefited.

He further pledged to look into the appeal lodged by the state governor to assist Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria, in expanding its programmes through the building of a faculty of agriculture.

Earlier, Governor Sani had requested more intervention and support from TETFund in some of the key institutions in the state, stating that he was also at the fund’s headquarters to make more effort to ensure that interventions to institutions within the state were released.
