The Commandant, Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC), Commodore Abubakar Ahmed Madawaki, has challenged logistics officers to prepare them for the challenges of modern naval operations in the country.
The Naval Boss gave the charge while graduating 178 officers and other lower ranks who had just completed advanced professional training in their areas of specialization.
The graduated personnel includes participants of Logistics Officers Basic Course 37, Leading Seaman Qualifying Course 48, Petty Officers Qualifying Course 48, Basic Qualifying Course 56, and Basic Project Officers Qualifying Course 4.
Commodore Madawaki reminded the newly equipped personnel of the greater responsibility ahead of them, adding that the newly acquired knowledge and skills in advancing operational efficiency are expected to have an impact on the overall security architecture of the country.
He noted that the graduates had undergone intensive academic, military, and practical training designed to prepare them for the challenges of modern naval operations. The Commandant revealed the institution’s mission to build a highly skilled and professional naval workforce.
Madawaki urged the graduates to apply the expertise gained during the courses to strengthen logistics operations and enhance the Navy’s effectiveness.
“Today’s graduation ceremony marks another milestone achievement for the Nigerian Navy Logistics College. It is a moment of reflection, celebration and renewed commitment to service and professional excellence,” Madawaki said.
“The knowledge, skills and values instilled in you throughout the training are tools meant to shape your character, guide your decisions and prepare you to face the complex realities of the modern naval environment,” he stated.
“It is incumbent on all of you to apply this expertise diligently in your service, particularly within the logistics sphere. I therefore charge you to be exemplary personnel and distinguished ambassadors of this noble college,” he added.
The Commandant also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, the Naval Training Command, and other stakeholders for their support in improving training standards and providing the resources necessary for quality learning.
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by the Deputy Governor, Murtala Suleiman Garo, said logistics and effective leadership remain indispensable to military success.
“The successful completion of these courses reflects your hard work and determination to uphold the high standards of military education and training,” he said.
He commended the graduates for their discipline and commitment throughout the training period.
He noted that “Modern naval operations depend not only on sophisticated platforms and equipment but also on efficient logistics support, sound planning, resource management and capable leadership.
The skills and knowledge you have acquired will undoubtedly enhance your contribution to the operational effectiveness and combat readiness of the Nigerian Navy,” Yusuf said.
He urged the graduates to uphold the core values of professionalism, discipline, loyalty, honour and selfless service in their future assignments.
“The nation expects you to remain committed to the defence of our sovereignty, the protection of our maritime domain and the promotion of peace and security,” he added.
Earlier, the Course Coordinator, Captain Imran Adamu, highlighted the achievements of the participants, praising their resilience, discipline and impressive performance throughout the training.
He noted that the students successfully completed a combination of academic, logistics, professional, and practical courses aimed at deepening their technical competence and leadership capabilities.
“The students demonstrated a high level of discipline in both academic and professional courses that will significantly enhance their skills and effectiveness in service,” Adamu said.
The ceremony featured the presentation of awards to outstanding participants for exceptional performance, while certificates were presented to all 178 graduates.
The event attracted senior military officers, government officials, security agency representatives, family members, and friends who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating personnel.
