The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by detained Nnamdi Kanu, has condemned the reckless kidnapping and killings going on in Nnewi Local Coucil of Anambra State and other parts of South East by criminals, noting that Igbo tradition goes against wasting innocent Igbo lives.

The group cautioned that anybody fighting for Biafra freedom and wish that Kanu be released from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody must stop all forms of criminalities in Biafra land. They warned that whoever enjoys spilling the blood of fellow innocent Biafrans should know that he would be rewarded in the same coin.

In a statement, yesterday, the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said: “IPOB wish to condemn Kidnappings and killings going on in Nnewi Council and other parts of Biafra land by criminals as Igbo tradition goes against wasting innocent Igbo lives.

“It is a sacrilege to be part of such heinous crime against our own people. If our ancestors acted in such way to themselves, we wouldn’t have been able to see today.

“We are cautioning those kidnapping and killing as a result of non-compliance of a non-existent Monday sit-at-home order to stop. If you are fighting for Biafra freedom and wish that Kanu be released, you must stop all forms of criminalities in Biafra land. However, if you enjoy spilling blood of fellow innocent Biafrans, bear in mind that you will be rewarded in the same coin.

“We wish to remind our people that the already suspended Monday sit-at-home was initiated by IPOB leadership, the Directorate of State (DOS) and not any other person or group. However, our leader, Kanu, whom we are following his footsteps and leading this movement and noble family advised us to stop the Monday sit-at-home and we obeyed.”
