Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP) has concluded arrangement for its 2022 Islamic Finance Stakeholders Conference and Dinner/Award Night to hold in Lagos.

The third edition of the conference with the theme, ‘The Future of Islamic Fintech in Nigeria: Products, Policies and Sharia Compliance’ will hold on December 15 and 16, 2022.

President of the institute, Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf, said the conference would involve 20 prominent speakers from 15 Islamic finance institutions, including Islamic finance policymakers, Islamic finance professionals, Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs), Islamic scholars, academics, leaders and managers of Islamic organisations, to discuss the theme.

The conference is open to stakeholders for a participation fee of N25,000 and the Dinner/Awards ceremony N35,000.

Expectedly, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmad; the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Patami, and the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Thomas Olorundare are the keynote speakers at the event.

According to Yusuf, the conference will also allow stakeholders to reflect on the theme and proffer solutions to likely challenges.

“Fintech is a novel introduction to Islamic financing, and stakeholders are quite enthusiastic about its prospects and challenges. Hence, they would find the topics quite engaging and compelling for the future of Islamic financing in Nigeria, as the topics have been carefully selected to address the theme of the conference,” he enthused.
