ITM marks 5th anniversary with breakfast meeting

ITM Services Nigeria celebrated its 5th anniversary in Nigeria with a breakfast meeting, with the theme, ‘Sustainability in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era: Business growth and employee retention in Nigeria’.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who gave the keynote address, called on human resources managers and other professionals in the people management ecosystem to adopt a more proactive approach to an effective and efficient AI for business optimisation and human capital development.

The minister, in her speech read by the Managing Director of ITM Services, Bukola Oyinlola-Anuwe, noted that AI presents an unprecedented opportunity to reshape the future of work in Nigeria, though its adoption must be done responsibly and collaboratively.

“The world is at a pivotal moment. We are witnessing a technological revolution driven by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation, which is reshaping industries, transforming economies, and altering the fabric of our societies. This revolution presents both remarkable opportunities and significant challenges.”

The Chairman, ITM Services, Sylva Monga, said the firm has come to stay and that Nigerians should expect more improved services from ITM, revealing that ITM Services started operation in DRC Congo before moving to other African countries.

The Human Resource Director, Promasidor, Stanley Eluwa, in a panel discussion on the impact of AI on traditional job roles and how businesses can retain talent; noted that Nigerian companies have not fully embraced AI capabilities in their operations.

Another panelist, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), VIISAUS, Stella Obialor, suggested collaborative approach to AI adoption in Nigeria noting that it would be a win-win for every organisation with the right approach.

On her part, Head, Human Resources, Sterling Financial Holdings Company, Omotola Adedapo said people must learn to evolve, arguing that AI has the potentials to help improved skills for employees.
