Nigerian United Kingdom-based techpreneur and founder of eGP, Chukwuebuka Michael Odo, has stressed that it is high time Nigeria and Nigerians built technology solutions that are unique to their economic, social, cultural, and lingual realities if they must compete well in the global world and markets.
Odo stated this through a communique to the press shortly after the launch of eGP and Oversabi AI, two technology solutions he said were created with Nigeria and Africa in mind.
“For too long, we have been consumers of imported tools, especially technology tools. Now, with AI, we can build innovative solutions rooted in our own realities,” Odo said.
A review of the two technology solutions described eGP as a telehealth company committed to transforming the way people access and experience healthcare, adding that it is arguably the world’s fastest way to see a doctor.
On the other hand, Oversabi AI was reviewed as “Nigeria’s premier AI assistant built by Nigerians, for Nigerians,” designed to empower Nigerians with AI technology that understands their culture, language, and unique needs.
Odo noted that eGP was created to simplify healthcare connections with qualified medical professionals, anytime and anywhere, with no need for waiting rooms, long travel times, and unnecessary delays.
The techpreneur added that Oversabi AI offers interactive language learning in 10 languages, including Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin English, and other international languages, adding, “From Lagos traffic to Abuja politics, from jollof rice recipes to Nollywood updates, we know Nigeria inside out. Oversabi is a technology that speaks like you and teaches you.”
Odo stated that, with eGP and Oversabi AI, they are building something that resonates with Nigeria and Africa, adding, “African AI is more than just technology; it is an opportunity to own the future. If we get it right, AI can help leap ahead, not just to catch up.”
He said that in five years, he sees African digital and AI technologies adopting more local innovations, adding that eGP and Oversabi AI, in the near future, are positioned to lead such an innovative charge by leading the global AI economy and creating an ecosystem where Africans can learn and develop in their local languages.
