Ivie Orode rebrands Ivyroze Woman as Ivy Loom, promises comfort, culture through fashion

In a bold move to redefine the future of Nigerian fashion, designer and entrepreneur Ivie Orode has officially rebranded her women’s fashion label from Ivyroze Woman to Ivy Loom. The newly relaunched brand focuses on comfort, sustainability, and a blend of Nigerian and Western cultural influences.

Speaking in an exclusive chat, Ivie Orode said: “Ivy Loom is a slow fashion women’s brand, and its ethos is comfort and community. The goal is to provide comfort in every piece, be it an Ivy Loom loungewear or dress.”

Ivie’s journey into fashion was born from a deeply personal experience. Recalling her childhood, she noted that her mother, a teacher, ran a fashion business on the side and made clothes for the family. But after the business closed, Ivie often found it difficult to get clothing that truly fit her.

“It was either too big or not flattering or just not right… so I decided that sewing couldn’t have been that difficult. I was determined to learn to make my own clothes that will suit me just right,” she said.

This determination birthed Ivy Loom, a brand she describes as unique for its ability to fuse heritage and global style. “The beauty of culture and experiences is that no two people share the same. My unique experience at home and abroad is what makes Ivy Loom different.”

The rebrand is also a result of intentional growth and self-improvement. After her first collection post-fashion school, Ivie realized she needed more than design and sewing skills to build a successful brand. In 2021, she pursued further studies in Marketing abroad, returning with a renewed vision. “With a brand new outlook on business, I am ready to relaunch, but this time better equipped with the knowledge that I need to succeed.”

With the new identity comes a refined purpose. Ivy Loom now promises not only thoughtful design but also values such as sustainability, customer service, and empowerment. “Everything has changed to be fair, from the brand name to our approach to design,” she said. Customers can expect carefully crafted loungewear and dresses available online that prioritize indoor comfort but transition seamlessly into outdoor settings.

Although Ivy Loom is yet to officially partner with local businesses, Ivie hinted at plans to collaborate with fabric producers to create exclusive prints. Her vision for community impact is equally ambitious. “My vision with Ivy Loom is to blend Nigerian and Western influences to create thoughtful pieces that spark cultural appreciation, support local makers, and promote mindful, stylish living.”

Looking ahead, Ivie dreams of turning Ivy Loom into more than a clothing brand—she wants it to become a creative hub. “Long-term, I want to grow the brand into something more than just fashion, a creative space where culture, craftsmanship, and conscious style come together,” she said.

As Ivy Loom sets out on this rebranded path, it represents more than just fashion it’s a movement, a statement, and a celebration of identity, comfort, and creativity.
