IWD: Ivie Adidi makes list of 50 Outstanding Women of Excellence

A renowned women advocate and political leader, Sarah Ivie Adidi has been listed as one of the 50 Outstanding Women of Excellence and set for conferment of award on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in commemoration of the International Women’s Day (IWD).

Tagged, “Her Excellence Conference & Award 2026”, the award celebrates 50 Outstanding Women who have contributed in promoting girl child education and women empowerment.

The award ceremony will hold at Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartment, Asokoro Abuja.

A development economist and youth advocate, Adidi is aspiring to represent AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory at the House of Representatives in 2027.

Speaking on the awards, the CEO of Aso Multimedia and Convener of the Her Excellence Conference and Awards (HECA), Amb. Desmond Agboola, said the initiative was designed to recognise and celebrate women who have distinguished themselves through impactful contributions to society, particularly in advancing the cause of women and the girl child.

He noted that the award also aims to spotlight female leaders who have demonstrated commitment to community development, leadership, and empowerment, while inspiring younger generations of women to pursue excellence in their various fields.

Agboola lauded Adidi for her dedication to promoting women’s rights, youth development, and inclusive governance, adding that her selection among the 50 honourees was based on her track record of advocacy and service.

He said her expertise as Programme Coordinator in the Statistics Department of a leading development finance institution could be valuable for a constituency like AMAC/Bwari.

According to him, Her Excellence Conference and Awards 2026 will also feature discussions on women’s leadership, economic empowerment, and strategies for strengthening the role of women in governance and national development.

He added that the event, which coincides with the global celebration of International Women’s Day, is expected to bring together policymakers, development partners, civil society leaders, and advocates of gender equality to celebrate progress made and chart a path for greater inclusion of women in leadership.

On his part, the Project Coordinator, Her Excellence Conference Awards, Amb Kingsley Tolulope Agboola, said the initiative seeks to provide a platform for celebrating women whose efforts continue to shape communities and inspire positive social change.

He explained that the selection process for the awardees was rigorous and based on measurable impact in areas like education, women empowerment, leadership, and community service.
