The Eko Heritage Awards has announced that accomplished author and actress, Dr. Jessica Wilson Dorsey, will be a keynote speaker at the Eko Heritage Awards 2025.

At the event, Dorsey will deliver a keynote speech on “Preserving Traditions, Shaping Futures: Heritage and Culture in Urban Landscapes”.

The Eko Heritage Awards is a prestigious event celebrating and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Lagos State and Nigeria. It also aims to recognise and honour outstanding individuals, organisations, and initiatives contributing to the preservation and advancement of cultural identity in Lagos and Nigeria.

The event will hold on July 27, 2025, at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This year’s theme is: ‘Celebrating timeless legacy, focusing on the importance of preserving traditions and cultural heritage in urban landscapes like Lagos’. A ‘timeless legacy’ refers to the enduring impact, influence, or memory of cultural heritage, traditions, or contributions that continue to shape and inspire future generations.

The convener, Egbe Emmanuel, in a statement, expressed his delight to announce that Dorsey will be speaking at the Eko Heritage Awards. He said the decision was made based on her expertise, influence, and contributions towards promoting art and culture.

For the Eko Heritage Awards, speakers are selected for their relevance to promoting and preserving Lagos’ cultural heritage and Nigeria in extension.
