Jigawa set to implement COVID-19 recovery stimulus

Briefing the press at the Conference Hall of the state’s Ministry of Finance, the Commissioner for Finance, Ibrahim Gantsa, stated that social safety nets and basic service delivery cover the scaling up of social transfer disbursement and livelihood infrastructure for the welfare of the masses.

Under this programme, the government is expected to spend about N800 million, out of which N365,863,210 will be disbursed to over 3,000 beneficiaries, and N410,995,790 spent under the state’s Economic Empowerment on Women and Youths in offering various training opportunities for self reliance.

Jigawa took second position at the last performance in implementing COVID-19 prevention by the World Bank statistics.

Area 2 of CARES is centred on farmers’ development and support under the FADAMA Agric Investment in terms of provision of affordable basic accessories and prompt disbursement where it is expected to consume a lump sum of N678.26 million.
