BadaruTHE Jigawa State government has said it would establish a School of Nursing and Midwifery in Hadejia.

A statement issued by Alhaji Bello Zaki, the Special Assistant on Media to Governor Mohammed Badaru, also said that the Hadejia General Hospital would be converted to a specialist hospital.

According to the statement, Badaru announced this when he paid a sympathy visit to the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Maje, over flood disaster that wrecked havoc in the area.

The governor said that provision of healthcare services to citizens of the state was important to his administration.

The statement added that Badaru also announced the expansion of Birniwa Hospital in Birniwa local council of the state to a standard general hospital to ease the strain on Hadejia General Hospital.

“The governor also inspected the site of the proposed School of Nursing and Midwifery in Hadejia. The priority of this government is provision of quality education, enhancing the people’s health and employment creation for sustainable development,” it said.

The governor said that the steps were taken to have adequate health facilities to meet the needs of the people of the state
