Jigawa State government has constituted a 13-man committee of experts on ecological disaster control management.

The team is expected to partner with The Netherlands in search of a permanent solution.

State governor, Badaru Abubakar, made the disclosure when he received his Kebbi counterpart, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who was in Jigawa to console its people and government over recent flooding in the state.

Bagudu called for joint and concerted efforts among state and federal governments, with a view to finding a permanent solution.

He also announced a N50 million donation to the state to support victims of flooding.

Responding, Badaru commended the Kebbi governor for the gesture and assured that the donation would be used judiciously.

Meanwhile, many of the flood victims displaced from their homes and resettled in 15 designated camps complained bitterly about lack of food, water and medications.

One of them, Sani Ahmed Karnaya, lamented that since he arrived at the camp, no state government official had visited.

He said reports of food and cash donations by state governments and corporate bodies were merely heard on radio and read in newspapers.

According to him, weeks after people arrived at the camp, only volunteers, rather than the state government, had reached out to them.
