The management of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) has reviewed
its five-year (2020-2024) third strategic plan to boost the hospital’s efficiency and service delivery.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of JUTH, Dr Pokop Bupwatda, who declared the three days strategic plan review retreat open on Monday, said the essence of the retreat was to assess performance and review areas that needed improvement, in line with the hospital’s objectives.
Bupwatda added that the aim of the retreat was also to enable the management think out of the box on ways of
generating resources, aside the funding it gets from Federal Government.
The chief medical director explained that the outcome of the retreat would facilitate the development of the next strategic
plan which would be smart, specific, realistic, measurable and time-bound.
He urged participants to ensure all hands are on deck to make the retreat yield the desired results.
Earlier, Dr Haggai Gutap, the Developmental Consultant from Team Lead, the developer of the strategic plan, said the
review of the plan was to ensure that the hospital was moving in line with the strategic plan which serves as roadmap
to achieving its objectives.
Prof. Jonathan Dabier, the Head of Department, Community Medicine, said the retreat would enable participants
to assess their performance and to know their areas of weaknesses.
The hospital’s top management and heads of departments were in attendance and the retreat will end on Dec. 13
