The Kaduna State Police Command has warned residents in the state to avoid marked areas in the metropolis, as a two-day shooting range exercises for recruits are scheduled to commence on Tuesday.

According to a police statement, the shooting exercise is expected to take place at the Amanan Kasuwa Shooting Range Ground, located along Mararaban Jos-Panbegua Road in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, said that “residents and commuters within and around the area are advised to exercise caution and avoid the marked vicinity during the exercise.”

He said, “The command assures members of the public that strict safety measures have been put in place, and there is no cause for alarm despite the expected gunshot sounds.”

Hassan added, “The command seeks the maximum cooperation of all and appreciates the understanding of residents as this important training is conducted to enhance the operational readiness of officers and to prepare them for future challenges.”
