Kaduna procures 107 vehicles for security agencies

OFFICIALS of Kaduna State security outfit, Operation Yaki have disclosed that the 107 vehicles procured by the government to boost security in the state would soon be distributed to the agencies concerned to assist in the fight against terrorism and other crimes.

Coordinator of the outfit, Colonel Yakubu Yusuf (rtd), gave the hint on Monday while receiving officials of the state chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) on a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

El-Rufai also confirmed at the fourth town hall meeting held on Saturday that the government has approved the purchase of 107 vehicles for security agencies. This, he pointed out, was to aid the protection of lives and properties of people of the state.

According to him, “Our State Executive Council has approved the purchase of 107 vehicles for security agencies in the state. We continue to examine the most effective options for realising our objective of CCTV coverage of our major cities and the establishment of a modern forensic lab.”

Yusuf, who represented the governor, said the vehicles were ready for distribution to the various security outfits in the state. He however noted that the only thing delaying the release was the modality for distribution.
