Kajogbola Foundation set to put smiles on widows’ faces

A non-governmental organisation, Pastor Kajogbola Foundation, is set to alleviate the sufferings of abandoned widows in the country with the inauguration of a housing scheme to cater for their accommodation needs.

President of the Foundation, Pastor Femi Kajogbola, who spoke in the United States (U.S.), said he was moved to embark on the project after he witnessed the abject poverty most widows had been subjected to in the country after the demise of their husbands.

According to him, the inauguration and a fund-raising will hold on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Moremi Hall of Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos.

Kajogbola said that most times, the widows and their children had been bundled out of their houses by their deceased husband’s relatives, thereby rendering them homeless and helpless.

He said it was because of this that he set up the Foundation, alongside the Vice President of the organisation, Morris Hallowell, to ensure that decent houses are made available to these vulnerable women.

“Kajogbola Foundation was founded specifically with the aim of putting smiles on the faces of every widow and we have been doing this for the past few years,” he said.

Already, the Foundation has designed a prototype of a Widow’s Estate Empowerment Centre where the homeless widows will be accommodated upon completion of the project.

Kajogbola, therefore, appealed to individuals and corporate organisations to take advantage of the opportunity and key into the vision that is intended to touch humanity by making donations to ensure that the project becomes a reality.

Eminent personalities expected to grace the epoch-making event include Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who is chairman of the day; His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba (Rev.) M.S. Akindele; Olu of Owode-Yewa, Ogun State, who is the Special Guest of Honour.

Others are Iyalode-General, Nigeria (Special Guest of Honour) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyalode General, Nigeria (Special Guest of Honour) and Mogaji Ikola, Olootu of Ibadan (Special Guest of Honour).
