The Kano State House of Assembly has fixed Monday for the screening of deputy governor nominee, Murtala Sule Garo, marking a key step in the constitutional process for his possible confirmation.
The announcement follows the formal submission of Garo’s name to the legislature for consideration, in line with provisions governing executive appointments in the state.
Lawmakers are expected to thoroughly assess the nominee’s credentials, experience, and overall suitability for the office during the screening exercise.
The session forms part of the mandatory legislative procedure that must be completed before any nominee can be confirmed and subsequently sworn into office.
Garo, a former commissioner in Kano State, is being considered for the deputy governorship position, subject to the outcome of the Assembly’s review and approval process.
Details of the screening proceedings are expected to become clearer after the exercise, as the Assembly continues its constitutional duty of vetting nominees for public office.
