The major reshuffle, announced in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, also saw the reassignment of seven commissioners.
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf said the exercise is to effect the pragmatic political realignment of his administration.
MEANWHILE, the state government has expressed readiness to partner with aviation companies under the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to boost agribusiness through cargo export of perishable produce from Kano to neighbouring states, African countries and Europe.
The governor gave the commitment when he hosted a delegation of cargo management services from FAAN on Wednesday.
He noted that the cargo transportation of farm produce would boost production levels.
The governor said the initiative, scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year, would reduce post-harvest losses, which account for over 35 per cent of total proceeds.
He assured the aviation industry players that his administration was determined to advance the new mode of transporting agro-products to neighbouring states and beyond.
Earlier, General Manager, General Cargo Service, FAAN, Mrs Alao Mamman Rekiya, said their visit was to seek areas of cooperation and synergy in the introduction of cargo export of farm produce from Kano to other states and beyond.
She added that the Federal Government’s initiative in the aviation sector was part of an overall renewed agenda on diversification of revenue generation through cargo export.
