Kayode Fayemi to deliver Akintola Williams lecture
The immediate past governor of Ekiti State and minister designate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, will on Thursday deliver the 2015 edition of Akintola Williams Distinguished lecture series in Lagos.
The lecture is held annually to celebrate the doyen of the Accountancy profession in Nigeria, Chief Akintola Williams.
According to the organisers of the lecture, Fayemi will be speaking on “Leadership Factors and Good Corporate Governance: Key to National Growth and Development”, at the event which will hold at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Elder Statesman and former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, will chair the event, while Chief Akintola Williams, the foremost Nigerian Accountant, is father of the day.
Chief Akintola Williams, 96, is renowned for being the first African to qualify as a chartered accountant.
The Executive Director, Akintola Williams Distinguished Lecture Series, Godwin Iluobe, said members of the diplomatic community, prominent senior citizens, government functionaries, businessmen and accountants are expected at the event, which commences by 10am.
