The stepmother of the Special Adviser to Governor Simon Lalong on Public Affairs, Diket Plang, who was kidnapped on Saturday, March 19, 2022, was released in the early hours of yesterday.
The kidnappers had demanded N200 million ransom from the family but later reduced it to N5 million.
Although the family had said the N5 million being demanded by the kidnappers was on the high side, it was not clear whether the money was paid or not as the source, who broke the news of her release did not mention anything about it.
The family source, which said the victim regained freedom about 12.08am, added that they were happy that their mother and a lady taking care of her were freed from their abductors.
When pressurised to disclose whether ransom was paid or not, the source simply said, “The issue of ransom should be forgotten.”
