KIND advocates proper inclusive education in Lagos State

The Kudirat Initiative for Democracy under its VOICE influencing project has said for better functionality of people living with disability, they should not be denied basic education as well as an enabling environment, infrastructure and teaching aids to learn.

In a two day workshop organised by KIND for parents and pupils drawn across the 31 inclusive schools in the state, with the theme, promoting functionality of inclusive schools in Lagos, issues around access to school, lack of toilets, qualified teachers among other issues were identified.

Founder of KIND, Mrs. Hafsat Abiola-Costello, said that they are poised to ensure that these people get the support they need to function properly in the society. “We want to focus on bridging the gap between them and those who are elected to serve them. “People with disabilities are those Nigerians think of last and so their families bear the burden.
