Unknown-Gunmen1A HIGH Court Judge, Justice Samuel Obayomi of Ebogogo High Court in Adavi Local Council of Kogi State, has been abducted by unidentified gunmen on yesterday morning after his orderly Corporal Usman Musa was shot dead on the spot.

The hoodlums who stormed the court in a commando style carried out their operation between 8:40 and 8:45 am in the morning.

According to the driver of the judge, Mr Ajayi Kolawole, the heavily-armed gunmen were not masked but wore dark glasses and numbering about three, stopped the car in front of the Executive Guest Villa, GRA Okene.

Kolawole said the gunmen ordered the judge and his aides to lay flat face down and they complied.

He indicated that the hoodlums saw the armed orderly as a threat and opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.   Obayomi was on his way to the office.

The judge who just survived a ghastly motor accident resumed work last week Monday after spending three months on hospital admission.

The police Commander of the Okene Area Command, Mr Kehinde Kolawole, said the police had arrested the judge’s driver to help in their investigation adding that, the driver being an eyewitness, was likely to give them adequate information.

The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah, who later visited the family of the kidnapped judge, urged the wife to let him know as soon as the kidnappers contacted any member of the family.   Ajanah said every effort would be made to ensure the release of the Justice.
