General Superintendent of Deeper Life Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, yesterday, lamented the alarming rate of insecurity, economic hardship and unemployment in the country and called on Nigerians to pray that right leaders will win coming elections.

Kumuyi, who was in the company of his wife, Esther, for a six-day Global Crusade in Asaba, Delta State, entitled: ‘Unforgettable Encounter’, said he was not comfortable with the situation of things in Nigeria.

He charged Nigerians to follow up their prayers with actions by coming out en masse to elect good leaders.
He said: “We cannot solve the problems and other challenges facing the country by folding our hands, but we must follow up with action; those who are eligible to vote should be intelligent and careful in casting their votes for the right leaders. We are praying for the election, but then we must follow up our prayers with action by coming out to vote en masse.

“Even if one person goes hungry, I’m not comfortable. If one person is unemployed, I am not comfortable, either.”

He appealed to candidates to eschew violence, noting: “All these candidates want to win, nobody wants to lose, having spent huge amount of money to campaign, but two, three or four persons cannot be president at same time.”

Kumuyi, who was warmly received by the Christian community in the state, added: “Only one person will be president at a time, it is not a do or die affair. So, whosoever wins, the rest should accept it.”
