Kwara State Police Command has arrested 30 suspects in connection with the weekend clash among suspected students cult members, which claimed two lives in Ilorin, the state capital.

The State Police Command confirmed the death of two persons, one of who was simply identified as Azeez christened ‘Paparazi’ on the football pitch of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, during the sad incident.

According to the state’s Police spokesman DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, the suspects would be arraigned today before a magistrate court in Ilorin. Following serial cult killings in the state some six years ago the Seventh State’s House of Assembly had enacted a law with stiff penalties against anyone found culpable in the act.

Sources said, the casualty toll during the clash between members of suspected ‘Aiye’ and ‘Eiye’ confraternity could be up to five. The renewed crisis was said to have started at the Kwara state Polytechnic, Ilorin.
