Lagos-based dredging company donates to 4 orphanages
Lagos Channel Management (LCM), a dredging company, on Friday donated N1million each to four orphanages to celebrate the Christmas.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the beneficiaries includes Vigilant Heart Charitable Society, Divine Heritage Children’s Centre, Heart of Gold Hospice Home and Citadel of Grace Mission Disciple International.
Danny Fuches, the Managing Director of LCM, while presenting the money, said the company had made it a duty to carry out the gesture every year in the past six years.
Fuches, represented by Prince Falade Oyekan, the Head, Human Resources, said that donating to the less privileged was part of LMC’s corporate social responsibility to the society.
“We wish we can do more than this so as to touch the lives of the most vulnerable people in the society.
“In our own little way, we have been able to impact positively through this gesture and knowing full well that government alone cannot take care of everyone,’’ he said.
The manager said that only government-registered orphanages and homes were qualified to benefit from the yearly donation.
“Before selecting the beneficiaries, we try to confirm from the state government where such homes are situated to ascertain if they are legally approved homes,’’ he said
Reacting to the donation, Mrs Ebun Idowu, Coordinator of Four Square Church, one of the benefitting outfits, thanked LCM for their generosity.
“We are grateful for this donation and we want to assure LCM that this fund will be well managed to further improve on the lives of the motherless babies,’’ she said.
Also, Mrs Christie Obehi, Director, Citadel of Grace Mission Orphanage, praised LCM for the donation, describing it as a huge assistance to the orphanages.
