effe-2-CopyRESIDENTS of Gafuru Road, off Ijegun Road, Ikotun, Lagos, have appealed the state government to come to their aid, saying: “our community has been ravaged by flood”.

The Chairman of the affected community, Mr. A. Adesanya, has therefore, called on the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Commissioner of Works, Ministry of the Environment and the Chairman of the Local Council, to come to their rescue.

They alleged that contractors had demolished the g gutter provided by the landlords’ association without constructing a new one.

“A series of letters had been written to Lagos State Ministry of the Environment without response. Erosion has, indeed, turned the whole community comprising of Gafaru Road, Akinjobi Street, Gbadamosi Street, Olarenwaju Street, Balogun Street, Ashafa Street, Liasu Street, Taiwo Street, Ajayi Daniels Street, Hassan Street, Buhari Street, Ilesanmi Agabi Street Adewusi Street, Muiz Olusi Street, Church Street and Musa Street to a disaster zone.”
