Lagos CP assures Ladipo auto market traders, others of adequate security

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has assured traders at the Ladipo Auto Market, Mushin, Lagos and other markets in the state of adequate security.

Owohunwa made the promise at the weekend when he visited the leadership of the market and had a first-hand assessment of the place.

The visit came after goods worth millions of naira, were burnt down by unidentified arsonists, who reportedly invaded Akere spare parts and allied Dealers Market, in the Olodi-Apapa area of the state.

The CP, who was received by the leadership of the market, led by President General, Ladipo International Market, Jude Nwankwo and the Secretary of the market, Onyeka Igwe, said more officers have already been deployed to the market and others in the state.

He urged them to be peaceful and law-abiding, and never take laws into their hands.

The CP said the attention of the Command has now been drawn to markets in the state, calling on traders to always give timely and useful information about strange movements and gathering to the police.

On his part, Nwankwo commended the CP for his concern and pro-activeness to issues security of traders and their businesses.

Nwankwo said presence of security men has given confidence to traders and customers at the biggest auto spare parts market in West Africa.

The traders also commended the Area Commander Zone D Mushin and the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in charge of the area for their professionalism all time.
