In a move towards digitising education in Nigeria, the Lagos chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), in partnership with Chronicles software development has launched SuccesssTAB initiative, an innovative educational device aimed at providing over 100,000 learning devices to students across Lagos State in the next three years.

The president of NAPPS Lagos, Alaka Yusuf Lukman, revealed that the need for digital learning devices has become increasingly urgent, hence the idea behind SuccessTAB initiative. He stressed that the partnership is a testament to the organisation’s dedication towards closing the digital space and preparing students for a future where technology is integral to every aspect of life.

He revealed that the device also features a detachable Bluetooth keyboard and tailored learning tools, created in line with the junior and senior secondary school curricula, in addition to providing access to past exam questions for WAEC, BECE, and JAMB, along with interactive resources to boost student performance.

“The first batch of SuccessTABs is already being distributed across NAPPS Schools in Lagos. To make the devices more accessible, a flexible payment plan will be provided through partner banks, ensuring that more schools and parents can participate in the program. NAPPS Lagos and Chronicles Software are optimistic that this initiative will revolutionize education for thousands of students, equipping the next generation with the necessary skills to survive in the new digital world,” Lukman said.

The CEO of Chronicles Software, Oluwakoyejo Oluwatosin, added that the phased rollout will prioritise schools with the greatest need based on factors such as infrastructure, student population, and economic status.

Additionally, Chronicles Software will offer teacher training programs to ensure the effective integration of digital tools into classroom learning. The partnership will also support the development of CBT (Computer-Based Testing) centres, to facilitate smoother examination processes, including online practice sessions for major national exams.
