Lagos seeks agric development through technologies
Lagos State governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has disclosed that to make Lagos a 21st Century economy, there is an urgent need to uphold smart agriculture driven by innovative technologies.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the Eko City Farmers’ market in Lagos yesterday, he noted that the importance of technology to the development of smart agriculture could not be overemphasised.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, he added that the main goal in this regard is to ensure food security for the over 22 million people resident in the state.
According to him, the Eko-City Farmers’ Market initiative is designed as a monthly market to be hosted on the last Sunday of every month.
