A wave of anxiety has swept through the Lagos State House of Assembly following the abrupt and unexplained withdrawal of all police escort personnel assigned to Speaker Mojisola Meranda and the legislative house. The sudden removal of the security detail, implemented without prior notice, has left the Speaker and the entire House feeling exposed, raising serious concerns about their safety and the stability of the state’s governance.

The withdrawal, which occurred with immediate effect, leaves the Speaker, a high-profile public figure, without her customary security detail, making her potentially vulnerable to security threats.
