Lalong Swears In Commissioners

PLATEAU State Governor Simon Bako Lalong yesterday swore in the 17 nominee commissioners screened and approved by the State House of Assembly with their portfolios.

Lalong described the occasion as an epoch making event, because it brings to a close all agitations and speculations surrounding the selection and appointment of these members of the State Executive Council.

He said that his government has “ensured that the participatory and consultative approach to the selection of representatives in government is given priority. This is so that our philosophy of inclusive governance is seen to reflect all shades of opinion and to bring in as best as we can the representatives of our people.

We have demonstrated consistency in this regard and in keeping faith with the Civil Service Reform, we have considered the desired professionalism, seniority and equitable representation in the various appointments into the Bureaucracy of Government. This is to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in service- delivery.”

The commissioners include Hon. Mwankon Peter John (Tourism, Culture and Hospitality), Hon. Ezekiel Daju (Commerce and Industry), Barr. Jonathan Mawiyau (Justice), Arc. Samuel A. Galadima (Housing and Urban Development), Hon. Pam G. Dongs (Works and Transport), Alh. Dayyabu Yusuf Garga (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Mrs. Tamwakat Weli (Finance), Engr. Ja’afaru Wuyep (Water Resources), Mallam Nafiz Ahmed (Information and Communication), Hon. Hitler Fankun Dadi (Special Duties), Mrs. Lynda Hennang Barau (Agriculture and Natural Resources), Hon. Joseph Mairiga Alex (Education, Science and Technology Secondary Education), Dr. Kunden Kamshak Deyin (Health), and Mrs. Rofina Gurumyen (Women Affairs and Social Development).
