Lalong, Ugwuanyi charge Muslims to practise virtues of Islam

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has called on Muslims to practise the virtues of Islam as professed by Prophet Mohammad.Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on his part, urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to promote the core values of Islam for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of the country.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has called on Muslims to practise the virtues of Islam as professed by Prophet Mohammad.Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on his part, urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to promote the core values of Islam for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of the country.

Lalong stated this yesterday while felicitating with the Muslim faithful at the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, which signifies faithful submission to the will of Allah as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim who was prepared to offer his son as an act of worship.

In a statement signed by his director of press and publicity, Emmanuel Nanle, the governor expressed delight that with the deepening of the gains of democracy and the consolidation of peace and security by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in the country, the nation was surely on the threshold of sustainable growth.

In a Sallah message, Ugwuanyi wished President Muhammadu Buhari and other Muslim faithful the blessings of Allah, calling on Nigerians to continue praying for the progress of the country, through good deeds, sacrifice and abiding faith in God.

The governor noted: “The ultimate goal remains our collective ability to live in peace and harmony, to cherish one another irrespective of religious, ethnic and political differences, for sustainable development of the nation.”
