Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, has called for fervent prayers to end insurgency in Nigeria and for the safe return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their homes in the spirit of the Christmas celebrations.

Lalong said this on Friday while celebrating Christmas with the IDPs camped at the Stefanus Foundation IDP Camp, at Zang Commercial Secondary School, Bukuru in Jos South.

Lalong urged the IDPs not to lose faith in the efforts of the present administration to crush insurgency and ensure safety of lives and property of Nigerians.

He said that the present administration is doing all it could to make sure that the displaced persons return to their homes in no distant future.

Meanwhile, Senator representing Plateau Southern Senatorial District, Lt-Gen. Jeremiah Useni (rtd), has blamed the current Boko Haram insurgency on leaders who are not alive to their responsibilities and allow their negligence to rub off on the populace.
