LASG tasked on healthcare, infrastructure development
…Forum On Yoruba Politics To Hold At OOU
Residents of Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 yesterday tasked the Lagos State government on the development of primary health centres, public schools and infrastructure in the axis.
They made the call through their representative in the state assembly, Hon. Sokunle Hakeem at the house’s stakeholders’ meeting tagged, “True Representation and Accountability,” which took place simultaneously in the 40 constituencies of the state.
Representing Pentecostal Church of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Pastor Barnabas Otoibhi tasked the state government to give the LG their dues and called on Governor Ambode to monitor the drainages and canal just as his predecessor did.
Also speaking, party chairman for Oshodi, Olamide Kasali urged the government to caution law enforcement agencies to desist from extorting money from people. He also lamented that of the over 300 roads in the axis, only two percent are motorable.
Meanwhile, a three-day international conference on Yoruba politics will hold between October 9 and 11 at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye Ogun State.
The conference tagged, “The Yoruba Nation and Politics Since the 19th Century,” would host Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Olayiwola Lamidi Adeyemi III and other eminent scholars and politicians.
