Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), in partnership with Oasis Nigeria Limited, is to set up two new ultra-modern suites to boost dental care services, check medical tourism and brain drain in the medical sector.
The facility, located within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Building in the hospital premises, was commissioned on August 26, 2024 with representatives of the firm, LASUTH top management committee members, as well as heads of the dental surgery units of the hospital, in attendance.
Chief Medical Director (CMD) of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, who spoke during the commissioning, said that the dental centre was created to meet the growing demand of clients that seek exclusive, private and prompt dental services.
He said the centre leverages the same expertise of the highly skilled consultants that LASUTH is known for, noting that it is equipped to meet international standards.
Fabamwo said that the facility would cater for clients that are willing to pay a slightly higher fee for fast-tracked, exclusive, and private care, while benefiting from the expertise of LASUTH personnel, consultants and experts. He also said the SDG Building “is rapidly becoming a central hub for cutting-edge medical services within the teaching hospital.”
The CMD said that plans were under way to commission an intensive care unit, an ultra-modern modular theatre suite, and a high-dependency unit soon.
He, however, lauded Oasis Nigeria Limited for partnering with the hospital, especially during these challenging economic times.
In his own remarks, Chief Executive Officer of Oasis Nigeria Limited, Dr Tunde Olujobi, who was represented by the manager of the centre, Frederick John, described the partnership as a significant advancement in providing top-tier healthcare to the community.
He emphasised that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and through the collaboration, Oasis Nigeria Limited aims to support standards in accessibility and excellence that LASUTH has already established in healthcare.
