CITING political motives, House of Representatives member-elect from Dutsin Ma/Kurfi Federal Constituency, who is also currently a member of Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon Danlami Muhammad Kurfi, has picked holes in a directive given by Governor Ibrahim Shema to all the 34 local governments to employ 500 workers.

He made this known at a media briefing in Kano, insisting that he was yet to see the possibility of recruiting 500 fresh workers across the 34 local governments in the state.

“What time do you have from now to Saturday’s governorship election that each and every local government will recruit such number of workers, do proper documentation and put them to work?” he asked rhetorically.

Kurfi maintained that the move cannot add any value to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the next gubernatorial election coming up in less than one week to come.

“I assure you that the governor has already realised that his party will be defeated hands down during April 11th election. He must have seen the writing on the wall,” Kurfi said.

Another reason, according to the legislator that could render Shema’s directive irrelevant was the fact that the Katsina electorate would not want to see the state under any political party aside from Buhari’s APC.

Kurfi argued that, “Buhari is from Katsina, so it will be very unbecoming of our people to elect any party different from Buhari’s. This is what we resolve to do no matter what.”

“Part of the reasons why PDP failed woefully in the last election was due to the fact that the party has for long been in confusion caused by the governor. During the last election most of the contestants for the National Assembly were either his relations or cronies. How can you play party politics like that, “ alleged Kurfi.

The lawmaker assured the people of his constituency that he would provide good and quality representation at the National Assembly, assuring that Buhari would lift the nation up and take the nation to the Promised Land.
