Man allegedly defiles 14-year-old girl

One Mohammed Dan Abass, 35, has been arrested by the police in Minna, Niger State, for allegedly having canal knowledge of a 14- year- old girl at Barken Saleh area of Minna, the state capital.

One Mohammed Dan Abass, 35, has been arrested by the police in Minna, Niger State, for allegedly having canal knowledge of a 14- year- old girl at Barken Saleh area of Minna, the state capital.

The incident occurred around 8:45p.m. on Saturday when the victim lost her money and was searching for it. The suspect accosted her and lured her into his house, promising he would give her the exact amount she lost.

The Guardian learnt that the teenage girl followed the suspect to his house, believing that Mohammed would fulfill his promise.The suspect allegedly forcefully had canal knowledge of the girl.

The under-aged victim, who stays with her mother, could not go back home until around 12:45 a.m., after suffering some bruises in her genital organ.She was bleeding from her private part and she narrated what happened to her mother.

She told her mother that it was one Mohammed Dan Abass of Barken Saleh, who deceived her and took her to his house on the pretext of giving her the money she lost.

She told the mother she began to bleed immediately the suspect allegedly forced his genital organ into hers. Confirming the incident, a police source at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) at the state Police Command Headquarters in Minna, said the victim’s mother reported the case at the Police Station, adding that the girl was taken to the Police Clinic, Minna for medical examination and treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command, Mr. Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the command had begun discrete investigation into the matter, adding that at the completion of the police investigation, the suspect would be arraigned in court.
