Marketers Defy New Fuel Price Regime Directive, Sell At N140

filling—station–24-1-15

filling---station--24-1-15NOT minding the new fuel regime pump price of N86 per litre of Premium Motor Spirit (fuel), marketers and dealers of fuel have not adhered to the pump price. Many were selling at between N140 and N145, both in the rural and urban areas yesterday.

While many refused to sell, others pegged theirs above the price they maintained since the scarcity of the product commenced.

These stations are located along Okigwe, Orji, Douglas, Ikenegbu Layout, MCC and Port Harcourt roads in Owerri, capital of Imo State.

When The Guardian visited some fuel stations, only a handful was seen dispensing at N140 and N145, while a drop in either tricycle or taxicabs went as much as N100 or N70 in short distances.
