Chief Medical Director, National Orthopedic Hospital, Kano, Dr. Mohammad Nuhu Saliu, has warned patients with multiple fractions against patronising traditional bonesetters.

Speaking at the 58th anniversary of the hospital in Kano, Saliu lamented the increasing rate at which patients return to hospitals with dead limbs following havoc by traditional bonesetters.

The spinal and plastic surgeon, who raised concerned over acute shortage of orthopedic technologists, particularly in the northern part of the country, urged governors to establish orthopedic institutions to train middlemen experts.
