CHAIRMAN of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Dino Melaye, ‎has alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan was allocated a plot of land within an area in Maitama district of Abuja that was reserved as green zone.

Melaye, during a budget defence meeting between his committee and FCT Minister, Muhammed Bello, claimed that the area was supposed to provide tourist attraction for foreign visitors, saying his committee had ordered a stoppage of construction and buildings on the area.

Other names mentioned by Melaye as beneficiaries of plots in that area include the former Justice minister, Muhammed Bello Adoke;‎ former Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda; acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus; late National Security Adviser (NSA), Andrew Azazi.
