Nigeria is set to play host to over 40 designers across the continent and beyond as the the Mens Fashion Week debuts in Abuja.
The 3- day fashion show to be held at the Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja from the 9th -11th August 2024 will feature designers across Africa including from Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Sweden among others.
The Founder of the Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria Santiago Roberts during a pre-event press briefing yesterday in Abuja said the show is a unique platform for discovering young and emerging designers and models from across Nigeria to reach the fashion industry internationally.
He said the 9th edition of the show supported by Vento, Istanbul restaurant and Jabi Lake mall was conceived and created with a vision to redefine the future of fashion and Integrate Nigeria’s men fashion into the global fashion world.
“The Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria is designed to provide the best tools for our designers to get the exposure they require not just across the continent but globally, adding that it is a platform that drives Nigeria and ultimately the African fashion by bringing together buyers, consumers, the media to view the latest collection of designers” he stated.
The 3 day event provides a platform that gradually reposition the industry and its a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria.
The Men’s fashion week according to him will create a platform for Participants and visitors alike to maximise their exposure within and beyond the fashion industry as well as provide gateway for more businesses and opportunities.
The Marketing manager for Jabi Lake Mall Abiola Oparinde said the mall has partnered with Qheue concept to celebrate African fashion, saying the goal is not just showcasing but also building capacity of young Nigerians.
He disclosed that the event will feature master classes, an avenue to build capacity of younger generation, teach them the business of fashion.
Oparinde said “this year we will be having competition to stimulate the creativity our young people. We are not just celebrating fashion, but building the innovativeness of our young people”
Also speaking the Managing Director of Vento Furniture Barrister Sordiq Mahmood said Vento Furniture always identify with quality, branding and standards to which Men’s faction week is not an exception, he said program to be held indoor will be a different approach from what it use to be.
