Military airstrikes kill ISWAP terrorists in Yobe
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Super Tucano fighter jets have killed over a dozen Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Turo-Ambia axis of Gujba Council, Yobe State.
The insurgents were neutralised on May 22, when their hideouts were targeted by military airstrikes through an intelligence-led joint operations.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed, yesterday, in Maiduguri, saying: “The military airstrikes were carried out following surveillance of eight gun trucks conveying the terrorists in Sambisa forest.”
A military source, in Maiduguri, stated that all occupants of the gun truck were killed by the airstrikes.
According to Makama, the airstrikes also destroyed a fabricated Mine Resistance Ambush Vehicle (MRAP) in the axis of Ambia, Timbuktu triangle of the forest.
