The Awushe of Onigbongbo Kingdom, Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi Ajasa, has echoed the voices of residents in Onigbongbo, particularly those residing around the military cantonment, by calling on the Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to provide a pedestrian bridge opposite the cantonment with a view to saving lives of pedestrians.

The recently installed monarch also appealed to the state government to, apart from protecting the lives and property of residents, ensure the provision of basic amenities like electricity transformers and drainage systems in the area.

Oba Ajasa further urged residents to co-operate with the government by strictly observing the non-pharmaceutical protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He warned that failure to adhere to the protocols, such as regular washing of hands, maintaining physical distance and use of facemasks in public, might lead to dire consequences like a possible lockdown, as the second wave of infection surges.

Oba Ajasa recently took over from Oba Olatunji Murunideen Yusuff after his sudden demise.
