ELECTION Monitor (EM), one of the 50 election observation groups accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to observe today’s governorship election in Kogi State, yesterday called on the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to provide adequate security across the state and maintain neutrality in their operations.

It also urged security agents to allow election observers and voters to carry out their duties on Election Day uninterrupted and without harassment or intimidation.

In a preliminary press statement made available to The Guardian, EM stated: “The Nigeria Police should keep its promise to bring to book all electoral offenders no matter how highly placed.
