Oduneye Deborah Oluwatosin, the founder of Debstarbeauty Empire, is making great progress in Lagos, Nigeria, as a top makeup artist and hairstylist. Besides her successful beauty business, Deborah is dedicated to making a positive impact on society.

Her journey in the beauty industry started with a strong goal: to help people become the best versions of themselves. She has trained over 1,000 students from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Tanzania, showing her influence across the continent.

At her salon in Agungi, Lekki, Lagos, Deborah creates a welcoming space where women are celebrated for their individual styles. Her focus on customer satisfaction reflects her commitment to quality. She also runs an academy that offers training in makeup, hairstyling, content creation, and social media marketing, providing students with essential skills for today’s beauty industry.

Deborah’s leadership and mentorship are key parts of her approach. She believes true success comes from lifting others up. Her expert guidance has helped many young people succeed in the competitive beauty field.

According to Beauty West Africa, Nigeria’s beauty market was valued at over $2.2 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow by 17.7% from 2023 to 2027. This growth highlights the huge potential in the industry, with Deborah leading the way and empowering others.

Reflecting on a key moment where her passion for beauty met governance, Deborah said, “From glam to governance: Empowering change in beauty and beyond. I’m grateful for the chance to work with Nigeria’s Special Assistant to the President, Mr. Fegho Umunubo, on the $617M IDICE project. It’s an honor to be involved in initiatives that promote inclusivity and transparency in Nigeria, helping those in the tech and creative sectors. I’m excited to continue this journey of empowerment.”

Deborah is now looking to elevate her mission by partnering with the Nigerian government, working alongside Mr. Fegho Umunubo to create more opportunities for young people and equip them with the skills needed to succeed in today’s economy.

Her story shows the power of passion, leadership, and a strong drive to make a difference. Deborah continues to inspire and impact lives, proving that beauty can be a powerful force for good in society.

As she moves forward, the beauty industry and beyond will be eager to see the positive changes she brings to communities across Africa.
