National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to National University Commission (NUC) to reserve a non-top of Higher National Diploma (HND) to First Degree.
Former Senate President of the body, Salahudeen Lukman, during a chat in Abuja, advised the regulator to operate within its constitutional mandate.He vowed that NAPS would not fail to picket NUC headquarters if it proceeds with the policy.
The national president, Rilwan Opeyemi Munirudeen, on his part, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to act on the Act on dichotomy between First Degree and HND holders passed by the ninth National Assembly.
He pleaded with the Nigerian leader to swiftly consider the piece of legislation, stressing that it was meant to address alleged discrimination of polytechnic graduates in places of employment.
