The Nigerian Navy has graduated another set of senior officers and ratings in logistics and hospitality management in a combined graduation ceremony at the Navy Logistics College, Dawakin-Tofa, Kano.
About 14 senior officers completed their professional program in Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) 04 in Logistics and Procurement Management. In addition, the 14 officers bagged a Master’s degree in Supply and Logistics Chain Management from the college in affiliation with the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).
Similarly, six junior officers completed Long Officers’ Basic Course (LOBC) 36 in basic logistics management courses, with a female officer, Sub-Lieutenant Aisha Abubakar, emerging as the overall best graduating officer in the category.
In the non-commissioned officers’ category, about 166 ratings completed various professional programs in Petty Officers’ Qualifying Course (POQC) 45, Leading Seamen Qualifying Course (LSQC) 45, Basic Qualifying Course (BQC) 53, and Basic Project Qualifying Course (BPQC) 01.
The academic programs, which encompass professional courses and practical training, are a requisite necessity for career progression for officers and ratings in the Nigerian Navy.
Addressing the session, Commandant NNLC, Commodore James K. Adediji, noted that the combined graduation ceremony culminated in the level of perseverance, dedication, and another milestone achievement for the Nigerian Navy Logistics College.
Commodore Adediji reminded the graduates that the knowledge acquired by the officers and ratings is more than personal success but represents operational skills that redefine their capacity. Besides that, he urged them to remain committed to the values of loyalty, integrity, and professionalism.
While congratulating the graduates, the commandant emphasized that the college has bequeathed them another step forward in their careers and urged them to demonstrate the resilience, innovation, and ethical conduct instilled in them during the professional training.
Commodore Adediji, who acknowledged the support of the state government for the college and its tireless efforts in ensuring the security of life and property, renewed the commitment of the military to sustaining a stable environment.
On his part, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the Navy College for its commitment to updating course content and programs to align with current developments and the evolving roles of logisticians in military operations.
Represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security, Major General Mohammad Inuwa Idris (retired), the governor reaffirmed readiness to sustain support to the college and other security agencies to achieve both organizational objectives and the collective mandate of national security.
Equally, the governor told the graduates that beyond the skills acquired at the college, the officers and ratings must always remember that the dynamic nature of global events requires continuous learning and adaptation as key to enhancing Nigeria’s maritime security.
